Why a new website for Post Falls?
What can Immaculate Conception Church offer through the new website? Find out below!
We are pleased to publish an interview with Fr. Paul Vassal, prior at Immaculate Conception Church, about the new website for ICC. After months of preparation by Fr. William Kimball and his team, Fr. Thomas Duncan, newly stationed in Post Falls, has been appointed the web content manager.
Fr. Thomas Duncan: What is Immaculate Conception Church?
Fr. Paul Vassal: Immaculate Conception Church belongs to the Society of St. Pius X, holding to the traditions of the Catholic Church as they have always been kept. The group of traditional faithful from the Post Falls vicinity was organized by Fr. DeBusschere in 1969, and in the early 1980’s he passed them on to the pastoral care of the priests of the Society.
Fr. TD: What does Immaculate Conception Church offer for her faithful?
Fr. Vassal: It has always been the mind of the Church that her parishes be an aid to the sanctification of the faithful entrusted to Her by God. For this reason, we have continued encouraging devotions and organizations that foster this spiritual growth not only in individuals, but also within families and society at large. At the same time, the Immaculate Conception Academy is happy to offer a good Catholic education to 190 boys in grades Kindergarten through 12th.
Fr. TD: Is there any other apostolate connected with Immaculate Conception Church?
Fr. Vassal: We are happy to give our support and aid to the Carmelite sisters of Spokane Valley, WA and to the Dominican sisters of Post Falls by giving them the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the sacraments.
Fr. TD: As prior of Immaculate Conception Priory, are you happy to finally make a website available?
Fr. Vassal: I am very glad to offer this website which will undoubtedly be a great means of notifying our faithful of coming events and showing them the previous apostolic success. Working in close connection with SSPX.ORG, our website will also keep them informed on the state of the Church in our world.
Fr. TD: Will the website be something static, or will there be reasons to visit from time to time?
Fr. Vassal: Though there will certainly be things that will not change, we hope to be able to keep the website up to date with the latest news concerning church and school activities as well as links to other Society websites with articles that we recommend for our faithful.
Fr. TD: As the first official website for an SSPX priory, is this something bigger than our community alone?
Fr. Vassal: This website will not only be a way for our faithful to remain up to date with the goings-on at ICC, but it will also be for those from our surrounding area an opportunity to see the Catholic life lived in order to restore all things in Christ. We hope that through this online apostolate, we will be able to contribute to the promulgation of the true Faith through our very actions, as did the Christians of old.
Fr. TD: This website truly is a great venture. As with all works we do as a community, generous individuals are needed to assist the priests in the apostolate. What kind of help is needed from volunteers?
Fr. Vassal: A few generous souls are needed to help with the content of the website. News articles, selections of pictures, and simple typing tasks are definite needs right now. Later on, a secondary web content manager will be necessary. All who are willing to help in any capacity are welcome to send an email to the church office.
Fr. TD: Thank you, Fr. Vassal, for your time and congratulations for this new success in the apostolate of Immaculate Conception Church.
