Ceremonies of the Holy Triduum - Good Friday

Following the Stations of The Cross on Good Friday, the solemn afternoon liturgy was held.
The singing of two lessons and responsories was followed by the Passion according to St John and the Solemn Prayers for the Church and all the people of the world. After this, a crucifix was slowly unveiled and the celebrant and servers venerated this image of Christ crucified followed by the whole congregation. During this time the choir and congregation sang the beautiful Popule Meus and Crux Fidelis.
In the final part of the Liturgy, the faithful receive communion in what is called the Mass of the Presanctified.
